Life is good. Too often we forget that truth. Caught up in our jobs, family responsibilities, civic organizations can leave us overwhelmed. We scramble from one thing to another. We come home exhausted and tired. The ancient people developed a day for rest and reconnection. In the Hebrew Scriptures, that day was called the Sabbath. The Sabbath was more than a day off. Sabbath was a time for reflection and recreation. Keeping Sabbath is a time of reconnection with God through worship. Keeping Sabbath is a time of reconnection with family. Fondly, I remember the summer afternoons playing croquet or badminton in the back yard with family and friends. When the evening sun began to set everyone would gather to share stories. Shortly, it was time to go to bed. As I laid my head against the pillow I would think: “Life is good.” ~ Pastor Heidi
